FAQs for booking flights out of Medford

  • Can I park my car at Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport (MFR) when flying out?

The MFR airport is one of the busiest in Oregon, so it's almost impossible to find a free parking spot. Located off Interstate Highway 5/62, it’s easily accessible. Just across the passenger terminal, close to Loop Road, you'll find the parking lot with enough space even for drivers with limited mobility. Pay for either short-term or long-term parking, each available at different daily maximums. The personnel works 24/7 at their respective stations, and you can call their offices beforehand. There are private parking areas outside the airport, but they cost more. If you arrive in a rideshare or car rental, unload your luggage quickly at the entrance to prevent congestion.

  • Can I spend a night inside the Medford Airport (MFR) terminal?

Some passengers with tickets for the next-day flights from Medford stay in hotels less than two miles from the airport. You can still spend the night at MFR. But it's good to carry a sleeping bag and a blanket to keep yourself comfortable. Never leave your baggage unattended and be sure to pack your carry-ons properly (which are limited to one bag and a small briefcase or laptop bag).

  • What's the best way to get to Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport from downtown Medford?

If you don't want to wait for the MFR shuttle, which departs every three hours, book a rental car that allows you to schedule the pick-up at your convenience. You can also request a ride to the airport through the Uber app, and a driver will pick you up from your address. The best thing about a car rental service is that it can guarantee a pick-up and return when you book in advance. Drop off the car rental outside the airport terminal and find your way to the security gates and baggage claim area.

  • Can I be escorted by a family member or caretaker to the flight gate if I have special needs?

MFR airport is fully ADA-compliant, so when booking a flight, indicate your particular need, whether medical-related or wheelchair assistance. Your caregiver or relative should accompany you to the airline counter, where they're given a non-flying pass. They should present a valid government-issued ID. For more information on mobility assistance at MFR, call the airline that issued your ticket before heading to the airport.

  • What is Medford also known as?

Medford Airport’s airport code is MFR. It can also be referred to as Jackson County, Medford, Rogue Valley Intl–Medford.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Medford?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Medford.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Medford?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight from Medford is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Medford?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to your destination with an airline and back to Medford with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Medford?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying from Medford up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

When Alaska uses Sky west which it does on many flights in and out of PDX, The planes use " Gates" that are outside of the terminal and are a long walk to and from the planes. Also you must board and deplane using a ramp. I have difficulty walking so going into Portland was difficult. Going out was worse . We walked to nearly the emd of this "Tunnel " only to be told there was a problem with the plane so we had to take the long walk back to to the terminal and then back out again when the plane was fixed. I will look for a Southwest flight next time I go to Portland

Great! No issues at all. Friendly staff, on time flight, and smooth, comfortable flight.

The airline itself was extremely comfortable and the staff were wonderful. The communication was excellent amongst the pilots and flight attendants and the passengers. I was throughly impressed by the cleaning crew that came on the plane immediately to ready it for the next flight. I have flown a bunch of times post Covid pandemic and have never seen this! I gave the “okay” rating for the food and entertainment because I didn’t order food and there wasn’t entertainment offered through the plane (only your personal devices).

The flight both ways was pleasant and uneventful. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and overall very helpful.

The one stewardess was rude about helping me put my bag in overhead….she said “ Is it heavy ?” (I am 73 yrs old)

That flight was a terrible experience. Flying to Portland was not much better. I will not ever fly Alaska Airlines again. I have a temporary disability due to recent neurocervical surgery. I cannot lift heavy things, I cannot walk long distances without vertigo and fainting, and I required wheelchair assistance. I showed up an hour and a half before my flight. The wheelchair queue assistance person was rude and chastised me for showing up so late. An older couple showed up almost an half an hour AFTER me, and she was sweet as pie to them. There was a long wait for wheelchair assistance as they were backed up. When I got to the gate, the gate attendants were rude and again, I got chastised for being late, even though it was not my fault they were backed up. When I asked for help with my bags and boarding the plane, they told me it was my fault and they were not obligated to help me. I was treated like a big inconvenience because I had a wheelchair and I couldn't "just walk." One of them literally rolled her eyes at me. I kept silent, because I just wanted to get home and I felt like they would not let me on if I complained, but I was practically crying. When I got down to the door to board, the wheelchair person left, and I asked the flight attendants for help. They said, well, you'll have to stand there and wait, even though I said I couldn't stand very long, and another passenger said, "Oh just let me do it" and helped me down. I tried not to bother the inflight attendants, because everytime you did, they acted exasperated and stressed out. I paid $7.50 for a bag of Pirate Booty and a tiny turkey beef stick for dinner. I needed wifi to work during the flight, and it kept crashing on me repeatedly and resetting my online work, costing me valuable time. I had to pay twice to get it on my laptop and phone, but I did get a refund when I returned. When I got to NY, the Portland agents had not arranged for a wheelchair to meet me and I had to stand for fifteen minutes waiting for the very nice young man who found an empty chair and had to wheel me and another passenger with carry on luggage to the front of JFK all by himself. Never, ever again. You all should be ashamed of how you treat people with disabilities. The other people who needed assistance to get on this flight did not fare much better than me, from what I could see.

My experience for a sort flight was perfect and hassle free.

I didn’t like not knowing my seat till I got to the airport - and my boarding group was F (last).

Wasn’t an Alaska plane so the seats were very thinly padded- glad I wasn’t going further.

My boarding pass birthdate was printed incorrectly causing me to spend an extra hour in a check-in and then again TSA line and to miss a chance to have dinner pre-flight. My window seat was given away and was replaced with a middle seat. I would have liked an opportunity to charge my phone and take advantage of movies but many of the departure gate chargers weren’t operational and I don’t know of an in-flight charging option, The flight left 45 late after trouble with unruly passengers, and I was glad staff removed them.

It was good until there was a 3 hour delay because there was not any pilots to fly the plane.

There was plenty of overhead room but half of the passengers were told they had to check their carryon bags. My partner and I checked in as early as possible and our seats were split across the aisle.

Friendly flight attendants. Comfort plus seats were very comfortable and had lots of leg room. 10A and 10 B.

I've flown many many times on Northwest and then Delta. The crew on this flight were absolutely the best I've had the pleasure of being looked after by.

Flew first class so everything was great. But maybe because the flights were red eye, no meals were served, just chips. I flew Alaska Air 1st class at 9PM (2 hour flight) and they served beef short rib sliders!

Had to change aircraft due to a faulty door. Surprisingly it only caused about an hour and a half of delay. Delta handled this situation as well as can be expected.

Awful. Flight was continuously getting delayed and gates kept changing without any reason. Flight was delayed for more then 3 hours

Paid premium for Delta only to be on safe but tired old 767 with ancient cabin in mediocre condition. Poor wifi and horrible inflight entertainment. Hardly a premium experience. Should have flown SW and had fun flight crew and no pretense

Our flight to Zurich was delayed by almost 3 hours, so we missed our next flight. There was no indication it would be delayed this much. We were told the gate had changed and then it apparently took over 2 hours to load the "catering" on the plane. We were not compensated in any way for the trouble.

Rated entertainment as Mediocre as there were major problems with the Infotainment system that took probably a half hour for them to fix.

Flight was good, boarding was a breeze, flight attendants were friendly and professional. There was a medical issue with another passenger and the crew handled it in a calm and professional way.

The net issue I had was with the gate agent. We had added a carryon to our boarding pass when we checked bags. When I got to the boarding gate the agent was rude asking why I had a backpack - I said I added it - even had an orange tag on it. She ripped my tag off and swung her monitor around to show me how she was right- saying it isn’t wasn’t listed - only a checked bag. I explained again that I wasn’t sure what the issue was but I wouldn’t have an orange tag if I hadn’t added it. Then she finally checked my husband’s boarding pass and found that the agent at checkin had added my carryon to his boarding pass instead of mine. She sent me on my way without my orange tag. Was a bit embarrassing for me the tone she used with me assuming I was trying to get away with something.

Gate agent asked if I could switch seats so a family could sit together. Agent moved me to a seat in the front of the plane, no charge. It was easy. The agent did a great job.

Great seat space. However food and drink prices outrageous. Jabbing to pay for a carry on bag or stuck paying at the gate too much.

Every Allegiant Air flight I've ever taken has been delayed. This flight was delayed a full 2 hours. It was excuse after excuse after excuse. It was a flight from southern Florida. They made us board the plane on time, but made us wait for 2 hours on the tarmac. Because the engines were kept shut off, so was the air conditioning. One can only imagine how hot the air was in the cabin over those 2 hours on the tarmac, while in the hot Florida sun. Just terrible.

Actually, for the price, I'm willing to put up with a little discomfort (upright chairs) and at times inconveniences (like any airline), lack of entertainment (I can bring my own). My flight was non stop and smooth. I would fly this route again.

The flight was delayed 6 hours and we were only offered an $8 food credit. My husband stood in line to get the credit for 45 minutes and when he got close to the end of the line the computers went down.

Worst ever! Flight cancelled supposedly for weather even though we k ow of many others who flew into Bangor same time no problem. At the airport there was no customer service at all just refund and no possibility of rebook for 3-4 days. Aweful won’t fly with them again!!

It’s a budget airline so adjust expectations accordingly. Nothing is without a fee but such is necessary for tickets to remain so affordable.

No complaints. It’s a budget airline so can’t expect any frills.

Flight was delayed in the gate by 5 hours and ultimately cancelled- rebooking service by United agents was terrible

Everything was pretty good except for food. They need to improve on it compared to other airlines.

Flight was delayed due to the late arrival of the catering truck, which is quite unacceptable. There was a beverage service, but no pretzel, or cookie, or nuts were served in coach.

Not worth the premium paid for the first class ticket

Not worth the price of premium class ticket paid, felt more like steerage.

Flighty delayed on boarding - then group 1 had to check their carry on bags but groups 3 and beyond could carry bags on - very inconvenient for weekend business trip with no checked baggage. Then delayed on the runway - before take off. No communication from pilot on why or how long. Wifi/Entertainment didn't work for 4+ flight. Upon arrival, attendants announced wrong carousel for baggage claim - everyone was waiting at the wrong place for their checked bags. This was a mess united!

I flew Delta last week and United Airlines is a poor substitute mechanical problems with the plane and shitty food among other things made my travel experience what’s become to be expected from United no way is it ever worth the money they make us pay

I had a great flight. Everything went smoothly and the flight arrived early.

Well....let's start from the point that I had to stay in airport for 12 hours instead of 2 that was scheduled. Poor company and even worst customer service. Never again....

The flight and boarding were easy peasy. I was traveling with my 4-year-old, so a smooth boarding experience was especially appreciated. My only piece of feedback is really about where our gate was in O'Hare. They've shoved four gates into a tiny corner of the B terminal and there isn't early enough room or seating for everyone. Not United's problem, but did dent the overall experience.

Missed this flight due to the first AA flight delay

Equipment swap led to 2+ hour delay on international flight. And to top it off, boarding took forever.

Wretched scheduling - they got themselves into a critical crew situation and didn’t try to address it until 15 minutes before they had to cancel my flight

They cancelled two flight and got us onto another airline, which was also delayed.

Nothing, terrible travel experience due to weather and maintenance delays and was left stranded in Austin.

Missed connection from Philadelphia to London because flight from DC was seriously delayed. Was re-routed the next day (had to pay for hotel) to Zurich and was given a main cabin middle seat while I had paid for premium. Great job AA!!!

My husband and I pre-ordered our food, but they did not have my husband’s order, and my cheese plate was very average. I asked for a blanket and was told they don’t carry blankets on domestic routs. The flight was on time and smooth!

28 hour delay at Fort Worth/Dallas airport, part due to weather which was unavoidable, but various other reasons - no pilot, no fa, mechanical problem, plane too small, too big, crew out of flying time, seat configuration problems.... endless and hourly updates with a different excuse. Finally told us about 3.00 am, that the flight was delayed to hours later.

Experience was bad. 3.5 hour delay for a 2.5 hour trip. There was no r Transparency about the reason for the delay and it was done 30 mins at a time.

Original flight delayed several times and finally canceled at 2:30 in the morning. Staff at the gate was not very helpful in resolving problems or communicating why there were delays. I spent 34 hours at the airport before I could leave, they couldn't book me on another early flight even after canceling my original flight. Next flight available after my original flight was canceled was 22 hours later. I will never fly American Airlines again.
